Responsible Cooperation and Relationship Disclosure
How IAOA describes partnerships, representation and international frameworks
1. Purpose
IAOA promotes international cooperation built on clear roles, institutional respect, accurate attribution and transparent communication. This statement explains how relationships and international references are described on the website.
2. Relationship Categories

| Institutional Partner | An organisation with a current written cooperation document or another verifiable institutional basis with IAOA. |
| Project Collaborator | An organisation participating in a named project, publication, event or activity. The relationship applies only to that scope. |
| Editorial or Expert Contributor | An editor, reviewer, author, speaker, adviser or expert contributing in an individual professional capacity. |
| Supporter or Sponsor | An organisation providing financial, technical, venue, communication or in-kind support to a defined activity. |
| International Liaison Representative | An authorised individual supporting communication and regional engagement within a defined mandate. |
| Reference Directory Entry | A public reference listing that does not indicate partnership, membership, endorsement, authorisation or representation. |
3. Memoranda and Cooperation Documents
A memorandum of understanding normally records intended areas of cooperation. Unless expressly stated in a binding agreement, it does not establish legal partnership or agency, grant exclusivity, create financial commitments, transfer intellectual property, confer accreditation or authorise either party to represent the other generally.
4. United Nations, UNESCO and Global Frameworks
IAOA’s long-term values and activities may align with internationally recognised principles concerning education, science, culture, communication, sustainable development, youth participation and dialogue among civilisations. Each public reference should use the most accurate level below:
- Values or thematic alignment: an independent activity supports related principles or objectives.
- Documented participation or inclusion: an activity, organisation or representative appears in an official or otherwise verifiable record.
- Support or cooperation: the relevant organisation or programme has provided documented support or participated in a defined activity.
- Formal affiliation or endorsement: use only where an official instrument expressly confirms that status.
Names and logos of the United Nations, UNESCO or other international organisations should be used only for the authorised activity and in accordance with the supporting record. A specific activity relationship does not create a general institutional affiliation.
5. Evidence and Review
Important relationship claims should be supported by an agreement, appointment letter, official event listing, permission, correspondence or other reliable record. Pages should identify the relationship type and, where useful, the relevant project, date and scope. Outdated or ended relationships should be updated or archived.
