Website Policy
Terms of Use
Rules governing access to the IAOA website and online resources
1. Acceptance and Website Operator
By accessing the International Academic Organizations Alliance (IAOA) website, you agree to these Terms of Use. The website is presented under the IAOA name and is legally operated in Hong Kong by International Academic Organizations Alliance Limited.
2. Purpose of the Website
The website provides information about IAOA, its publications, events, programmes, centres, international liaison network, cooperation relationships and knowledge resources. Unless expressly stated otherwise, content is provided for academic, professional and general information.
3. No Degree, Accreditation or Regulated Advice
IAOA is not a government body, university, degree-awarding institution or accreditation authority. Participation in an IAOA publication, event or programme does not by itself create a government-recognised qualification, professional licence or institutional accreditation. Website content does not constitute legal, medical, immigration, employment, tax, investment or financial advice.
4. Accuracy and Changes
IAOA seeks to maintain accurate information but does not guarantee that every page is complete, current or error-free. Dates, speakers, fees, publication schedules, partners and project arrangements may change. Material changes will be communicated through the relevant page or written notice where appropriate.
5. Partnerships, Representatives and External Organisations
The meaning of a relationship depends on the category and scope stated on the relevant page. A directory listing does not indicate partnership, membership, endorsement or authorisation. A memorandum of understanding does not automatically create agency, exclusivity, accreditation, financial commitment or authority to represent another organisation. Liaison representatives have only the authority expressly given to them.
6. United Nations, UNESCO and International Frameworks
References to the United Nations, UNESCO, the Sustainable Development Goals, international decades or global observances may describe shared values, thematic alignment, documented participation, support or cooperation in a specifically identified activity. They do not imply general affiliation, accreditation or endorsement unless an official record expressly confirms that relationship.
7. Publications and Editorial Decisions
Journal submissions are governed by the policies of the relevant publication. Submission, payment, sponsorship, institutional cooperation, event participation or personal recommendation does not guarantee review, acceptance, publication, indexing or citation outcomes.
8. Events and Programmes
Event and programme participation is subject to the information and terms stated for the relevant activity. Schedules, speakers, formats and venues may change. Certificates normally document participation, contribution or completion only and do not constitute degrees, licences or accreditation.
9. Intellectual Property and Submitted Materials
Unless otherwise stated, website text, design and original materials are owned by or licensed to IAOA. Third-party names, logos and materials remain the property of their respective owners. By submitting material, you confirm that you have the right to provide it and permit its use for the stated inquiry, publication, event or project purpose, subject to any separate agreement.
10. External Links and Accounts
External links are provided for reference and convenience. IAOA does not control external content, services or privacy practices. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any website account or password issued to them.
11. Liability and Governing Law
To the extent permitted by law, IAOA is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on general website information or third-party websites. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
