Support, Sponsorship and Funding Transparency

1. Purpose

IAOA welcomes project-based support, sponsorship, service commissions and in-kind contributions for clearly defined academic, educational, cultural, publishing and knowledge initiatives.

2. Forms of Support

• Project funding for a defined activity or output.
• Event or publication sponsorship.
• Service commissions for agreed coordination, production or communication work.
• In-kind support such as venues, technology, interpretation, expert time or communication resources.

3. Documentation and Disclosure

Each arrangement should identify the supported activity, contribution, expected outputs, acknowledgement method and responsibilities of the parties. Material financial or in-kind support should be disclosed on the relevant event, publication, report or project page where appropriate.

4. Academic and Editorial Independence

Support does not purchase editorial decisions, manuscript acceptance, academic titles, awards, accreditation, professional licences, partnership status, institutional endorsement or favourable research conclusions. Sponsors may be acknowledged but do not control academic opinions or editorial outcomes.

5. Tax and Charitable Status

IAOA does not present general project support as a charitable donation or promise tax deductibility. Tax-deduction documentation is issued only where an applicable legal status and written confirmation exist.

6. Responsible Use and Conflicts

Support should be used for the agreed purpose and recorded through appropriate administrative and financial processes. IAOA may decline support that creates a material conflict of interest, legal risk, reputational risk or inappropriate influence.
