On August 4, 2025, the International Academic Organizations Alliance (IAOA) officially announced that Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Soomro has accepted the invitation to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Global Humanities and Social Sciences (GHSS) journal.
Hailing from Pakistan, Prof. Soomro is a highly influential scholar in the international academic community: he is a recipient of the 2020 Chinese Government Friendship Award and the Order of Academic Palms, and holds titles including Advisor & Immediate Past President of the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), Vice President of the Belt & Road International Science Education Consortium (BRISEC), as well as Honorary Professor at Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) and China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing, China.
With extensive journal management experience—having served as Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Journal of Nematology and Regional Editor of JSTPM (2020-2023)—he is also a member of the Governing Boards of multiple UNESCO-affiliated institutions, including ISTIC (Malaysia), IRIS (Iran), and CISTRAT (China).
IAOA noted that Prof. Soomro’s joining will infuse GHSS with global academic insights and resources, empowering the journal to deepen interdisciplinary research in the humanities and social sciences. It is expected that under his leadership, GHSS will further enhance its international influence and emerge as a leading peer-reviewed journal in the humanities and social sciences field.
