Hanyang University, a top-tier private comprehensive research university under South Korea’s Ministry of Education, was founded in 1939 and operates two campuses in Seoul and ERICA. It has established an outstanding academic reputation: ranked 159th in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, 3rd in the 2025 comprehensive ranking by South Korea’s JoongAng Ilbo, and first nationwide in the "professor research output" category. Hailing from Pakistan, Prof. Soomro is a highly influential scholar in the international academic community: he is a recipient of the 2020 Chinese Government Friendship Award and the Order of Academic Palms, and holds titles including Advisor & Immediate Past President of the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF), Vice President of the Belt & Road International Science Education Consortium (BRISEC), as well as Honorary Professor at Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) and China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing, China.
