On December 29, 2025, the International Academic Organizations Alliance (IAOA) officially received the approval document from the Trademark Registry of the Intellectual Property Department of Hong Kong, successfully obtaining core trademark protection for Class 35 and Class 41. This marks a key step in IAOA’s intellectual property layout for its brand.

The two approved trademarks are highly compatible with IAOA’s business scope: the Class 35 trademark covers services such as advertising, business consulting, and market operations, which will provide compliance guarantees for IAOA’s global academic cooperation promotion and brand image communication; the Class 41 trademark includes core areas such as educational services, academic seminar organization, and journal publishing, closely aligning with IAOA’s core businesses of hosting academic journals and conducting cross-border academic exchanges. Both trademark certificates are valid until December 29, 2035, and the renewal period will officially open on June 29, 2035.

As a highland for intellectual property protection in the Asia-Pacific region, Hong Kong trademarks, with their high international recognition and sound legal system, serve as an important pillar for brand internationalization. IAOA’s trademark registration in Hong Kong not only effectively prevents risks of brand infringement and malicious squatting, building a solid "intellectual property moat" for cross-border businesses, but also lays a foundation for expanding global trademark protection through the Madrid System in the future, leveraging Hong Kong’s status as an international business hub.

For IAOA, the acquisition of these trademarks is an important milestone in its standardized and international development. Moving forward, IAOA will rely on improved intellectual property protection to continuously deepen global academic exchange and cooperation, further enhancing the brand’s credibility and influence in the international field of humanities and social sciences.
