Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Soomro, Editor-in-Chief of Global Humanities and Social Sciences (GHSS), a journal published by the International Academic Organizations Alliance (IAOA), participated in the 40th Annual Plenary Meeting of the InterAction Council held in Hong Kong SAR, China, from 18 to 20 May 2026. The meeting brought together former heads of state and government, senior policymakers, and international experts to discuss major global challenges and opportunities for international cooperation.

Established in 1983, the InterAction Council is an independent international organization composed primarily of former world leaders. Through dialogue and policy-oriented discussions, the Council seeks to contribute to solutions to global political, economic, social, and ethical challenges. According to the Council’s official statement, the 40th Annual Plenary Meeting focused on issues including global peace and security, economic recovery, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

Prof. Soomro attended the meeting as a member of the delegation of the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (AETDEW) and participated in discussions related to sustainable development in developing countries. Drawing on practical experiences in science education and capacity-building initiatives, he emphasized the importance of technology-enabled learning, human capital development, and regional cooperation in supporting the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His contributions highlighted the role of education, innovation, and international knowledge exchange in addressing contemporary development challenges.

As Editor-in-Chief of GHSS, Prof. Soomro demonstrated reflects the journal’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue on issues of global significance.
