IAOA and GYDCA Establish Strategic Partnership to Advance Global Youth Dialogue and International Academic Cooperation
On May 21, 2026, IAOA signed a long-term strategic MOU with UNESCO-based GYDCA to boost academic collaboration, cross-civilization youth dialogue, tech innovation and sustainable development. The two bodies will jointly host forums, youth leadership programs and cultural exchange events, advance knowledge sharing and support UN sustainable development goals. Leveraging IAOA’s academic networks and GYDCA’s youth intercultural resources, the partnership offers more cross-border collaboration chances for young scholars and innovators. They will also co-host 2026 UNESCO cultural education activities, integrating academic exchange with global youth cultural communication. IAOA stated it will keep building an open global academic cooperation network via worldwide institutional and youth platform partnerships.
On 21 May 2026, the International Academic Organizations Alliance (IAOA) and the Global Youth Dialogue Among Civilizations Alliance (GYDCA) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a long-term strategic partnership to advance international academic cooperation, youth dialogue among civilizations, innovation exchange, and sustainable development.
This partnership represents an important step in IAOA's continued international development. By working with GYDCA, IAOA will further expand its global cooperation network, strengthen its links with youth-focused international platforms, and promote deeper integration between academic exchange, intercultural dialogue, science and technology cooperation, and youth capacity building.
Under the cooperation framework, IAOA and GYDCA will jointly explore and support initiatives in international academic exchange, youth scientist cooperation, dialogue among civilizations, international conferences and forums, youth leadership development, innovation and technology exchange, and projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. GYDCA's official announcement also confirms that the partnership will support knowledge sharing, international conferences, youth leadership development, intercultural dialogue, and global cooperation initiatives.
As an international academic cooperation platform, IAOA has been committed to promoting global academic exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, youth scholar development, academic publishing, and mutual learning among civilizations. Through this partnership, IAOA will further mobilize its international academic network, expert resources, publication platforms, and youth scientist exchange mechanisms to create more opportunities for young scholars, researchers, innovators, and institutional partners to collaborate across countries and disciplines.
GYDCA is an international non-profit organization headquartered at UNESCO in Paris and dedicated to promoting dialogue among civilizations and strengthening intercultural understanding among young people worldwide. Its official website states that GYDCA works in cooperation with UNESCO-related networks and international partners to foster intercultural dialogue, promote peace, and strengthen mutual understanding among civilizations.
The cooperation between IAOA and GYDCA will also support the co-organization of international conferences, youth forums, innovation events, leadership programmes, cultural exchange activities, and cross-cultural dialogue initiatives. These activities will help young people and academic communities engage more actively in global issues, including sustainable development, technological innovation, cultural understanding, education, and international cooperation.
This partnership is also connected with IAOA's broader engagement in international cultural and educational cooperation. UNESCO's Culture and Arts Education Week 2026 events page lists GYDCA as the organiser of the “Harmony of Civilizations – Global Music Dialogue” and also lists GYDCA and IAOA among the organisers and partners of the African regional dialogue on the digital future of cultural and arts education in Africa.
IAOA believes that young people are essential participants in global academic cooperation, scientific innovation, cultural understanding, and sustainable development. The partnership with GYDCA will provide a new platform for connecting youth dialogue with academic collaboration, and for transforming international exchange into long-term cooperation mechanisms and practical projects.
Looking ahead, IAOA will continue to uphold the principles of openness, inclusiveness, professionalism, and practical cooperation. Through partnerships with universities, research institutions, academic organizations, youth platforms, and international partners worldwide, IAOA will continue to build a more open, diverse, and trusted global academic cooperation network.
