About This Journal
Global Humanities and Social Sciences (GHSS) is an international, open-access academic journal founded and published by the International Academic Organizations Alliance (IAOA).
GHSS provides a scholarly platform for original, well-grounded and internationally relevant research across the humanities and social sciences. The journal welcomes contributions that offer clear academic value, responsible analysis and meaningful perspectives on societies, cultures, institutions and human development.
The journal particularly encourages interdisciplinary, comparative, cross-cultural and cross-regional scholarship in areas including culture, history, education, public policy, governance, regional studies, global development, management, social change, communication and dialogue among civilizations.
Chinese studies, East Asian studies and cross-cultural communication constitute important areas of academic cooperation and thematic development. At the same time, GHSS maintains a broad international scope and welcomes scholarship from different regions, academic traditions and disciplinary perspectives, including research relating to Africa, the Global South and emerging academic communities.
Under a long-term strategic cooperation agreement, the Institute of Chinese Studies, Hanyang University, Republic of Korea, serves as the formal Academic Co-organizer of GHSS. The cooperation provides a framework for academic planning, thematic development, scholarly exchange, recommendations of authors and academic experts, and jointly developed international academic activities.
All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment. Depending on the manuscript type, subject area and academic content, research manuscripts may also be referred to external academic experts for review. Editorial decisions take into account the manuscript’s originality, relevance, scholarly contribution, methodological or analytical quality, ethical compliance and overall suitability for publication.
GHSS supports open and responsible scholarly communication. Articles are published online following acceptance and production, while print issues are compiled and published quarterly. Under the journal’s current policy, authors are not charged submission fees or Article Processing Charges.
Through responsible editorial development, international academic cooperation and open access, GHSS seeks to broaden scholarly dialogue across disciplines and regions while supporting the wider communication of diverse academic perspectives.
Publication Model
Global Humanities and Social Sciences follows a continuous article publishing model with quarterly print issues.
Articles are published online as the Version of Record once the editorial, peer-review and production processes have been completed. Each article is assigned a DOI, volume, issue and online publication date at the time of publication.
Online articles are assigned directly to the current quarterly issue. Each issue remains open throughout the relevant quarter and is closed and compiled in print at the end of March, June, September or December.
The online publication date records when the article was first formally published and made available for citation. The print issue date identifies the quarterly issue in which the article is compiled.
