Global Humanities and Social Sciences (GHSS) publishes original research and scholarly analysis across a broad range of fields within the humanities and social sciences.

The areas listed below indicate the journal’s principal fields of interest. They are intended to guide prospective authors rather than establish rigid disciplinary boundaries. Interdisciplinary, comparative and cross-regional submissions are particularly welcome where they make a clear and well-grounded scholarly contribution.

Society, Education and Human Development

Governance, Law and Public Policy

Public administration and public management; comparative governance; social and public policy; law, institutions and society; international and regional governance.

Economy, Management and Sustainable Development

Economics and development studies; management and organizational studies; labour, employment and human resource management; regional and rural development; sustainability and social innovation.

Global and Regional Studies

International relations; Chinese and East Asian studies; African studies and Global South perspectives; regional cooperation; migration, mobility and transnational studies.

Communication, Technology and Contemporary Society

Intercultural and cross-cultural communication; media and digital culture; technology and social transformation; artificial intelligence and society; research communication, knowledge dissemination and public engagement.

Interdisciplinary and Emerging Research

GHSS also welcomes interdisciplinary research that connects two or more of the areas above, as well as emerging fields of inquiry relevant to contemporary societies, cultures, institutions and human development.

Research addressing local or regional questions is welcome where it offers a clear scholarly contribution, broader conceptual relevance, comparative value or insights of interest to an international readership.
