Scientific Engineering welcomes research across engineering and related applied sciences, including but not limited to the following areas:

• Manufacturing, industrial engineering, process engineering, automation and quality engineering
• Mechanical engineering, thermal systems, fluid systems, robotics and mechatronics
• Electrical, electronic, communication, photonic and semiconductor engineering
• Computer engineering, artificial intelligence, data-driven engineering, cyber-physical systems and intelligent control
• Civil engineering, construction, transportation, geotechnical engineering and the built environment
• Energy systems, renewable energy, energy efficiency, storage, hydrogen and low-carbon technologies
• Environmental engineering, water, waste, pollution control, circular economy and sustainable infrastructure
• Chemical, biochemical, food, agricultural and bioengineering applications
• Safety engineering, reliability, resilience, standards, testing and risk-informed design
• Engineering management, technology transfer and innovation systems where the manuscript contains a substantive engineering or technical contribution
• Interdisciplinary engineering addressing public needs, regional development or sustainable development

Scope Boundaries

Submissions must contain a clear engineering, technological or applied-science contribution. Purely descriptive reports, general business or management discussions without substantive technical analysis, clinical studies without an engineering component, and scientific studies that do not explain their engineering relevance are normally outside the journal’s scope.

Authors who are uncertain about fit may send a title, abstract and article type to the editorial office before preparing a full submission.
